You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset, and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.
The game demonstrates inclusivity well, as players will have the ability to customize their appearance. They won’t be asked to choose a gender. Instead, they’ll be able to pick and choose from body types, voices, and other physical features. Developers haven’t shown the final result, but in interviews, they maintain that it is their intention and desire to allow gamers to create their own unique expressions of the human form. Then, the player is presented with countless different ways to alter themselves via cybernetic enhancements.
Cyberpunk 2077 will constantly feature the theme of transhumanism – the belief that humanity can transcend its current mental and physical form with the help of technology – throughout the storyline. In keeping with that theme, you get fluid customization of skill sets. There are no classes in the game, you can add, mix and match different abilities and perks to your character as you wish.
The game is almost entirely from the first person, except for the cinematic sequence and inventory screen. CD Projekt has described Cyberpunk 2077 as an open-world game, so expect to be able to take a break from the main questline to drive around looking for touble.
With all the anticipation surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 over the year, John Mamais, who is the head of the CD Projekt RED development studio said in reference to the title: “I think we’re going to be that one last, big, exceptional looking title on this current generation of hardware.”
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently due for release in April of 2020. It’s coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
